Shuttle Technologies (Pty) Ltd — e-hailing for Vanderbijlpark, Vereeniging, Sebokeng and Evaton.

Terms & Conditions

Effective 30 August 2026

Who we are

Shuttle Technologies (Pty) Ltd is a technology platform that connects riders with independent driver-partners in the Vaal (Vanderbijlpark, Vereeniging, Sebokeng and Evaton). Shuttle does not provide transport itself; drivers are independent contractors, not employees.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be 18 or older and give accurate information when you register. Keep your login details private and tell us immediately if someone else uses your account. One account per person for each app.

Booking a trip and multi-stop trips

Choose a ride tier (Economy, Comfort, XL, Premium or Shared), optionally add the Women Safety Option, set your pickup and drop-off and add extra stops before you confirm. The app shows the fare estimate, including any extra-stop fee, before you request the trip.

Fares and estimates

Fares are calculated from a base fare, distance and time rates, and a minimum fare, using the rates set in the app. Extra stops and waiting time are charged at the rates shown to you. The Women Safety Option may carry an uplift, shown before you confirm. Estimates can change if the route, traffic, stops or waiting time change. All amounts are in South African rand.

Cancellations and no-shows

You may cancel free of charge before a driver accepts. After acceptance, a cancellation fee may apply. If you are not at the pickup point after the agreed waiting period, the trip may be cancelled as a no-show and a fee charged. Drivers may cancel for safety or vehicle reasons.

Payment

The fare and any fees are payable at the end of the trip using the payment method agreed in the app. A receipt is available in your trip history.

Driver obligations

Drivers must keep their ID, driver's licence, vehicle licence, roadworthy certificate, police clearance and insurance valid and uploaded, drive a roadworthy vehicle, obey South African road law, and behave professionally. Documents are verified before a driver can go online, and re-verification may be required at any time.

Commission and payouts

Shuttle charges drivers a 15% commission on the fare. Earnings are shown in the driver app by day, week and month, together with completed trips and any bonuses. Eligible drivers can request instant payouts; a payout fee may apply and is shown before you confirm.

Conduct

Riders and drivers must treat each other with respect. Harassment, discrimination, violence, intoxication, weapons and illegal activity are not allowed and will lead to removal from the platform.

Prohibited use

Do not misuse the app, create false trips or accounts, tamper with fares or documents, scrape the service, or use it for anything unlawful.

Women Safety Option

The Women Safety Option matches riders with women drivers whose full document set has been verified and approved. Misrepresenting eligibility is a serious breach and leads to permanent removal.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, fraud, or safety risk. You may close your account at any time; amounts already owed remain payable.

Complaints and disputes

Raise a complaint through in-app support or the Safety Centre. We aim to resolve issues fairly and quickly. Safety incidents are prioritised.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Shuttle is not liable for the acts or omissions of independent drivers or riders, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act.

Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect. Continuing to use Shuttle after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
